The confidential dispute involved a number of complexities, parties and countries. The musicians involved had been members of the MU for a number of years and through this, they were able to access MU support by way of funding and access to specialist legal advice.

This was of significant help in assisting the members reach a position where they received a proper settlement, and were satisfied with the outcome. Without the support of the MU the members said that they would not have had the resources or expertise to pursue the matter properly.
